Ladies and Gentleman,

Mother Nature has not co-operated this year with the ice fishing derby. Great for those who do not like to shovel snow. Weather co-operating and proper conditions of the ice, the event will take place on Sunday February 26,2017.

As a reminder the decals for 2017 are available for purchase. The best way to reduce lines during the summer is to mail in your application or purchase before summer begins. If you have not received your application, please contact the office.

Thank you,

Lance Kennedy

Be aware that there is a Fireworks Fallout Zone a specific distance from the island where the Fireworks will be launched. This zone will be identified with glow sticks attached to the buoys in the West Bay as well as additional glow stick containers. The Marine Patrol will be monitoring the area. If any safety issues should occur, such as boats within the safety perimeter of the island, the Fireworks will be shut down immediately. Based on the experiences of the Memorial Day weekend, it has been determined that having the dredging sediment pipeline extended across the mid-section of the lake during the summer boating season is not advisable.

As a result, the dredging schedule has changed.  The dredge has now been moved to the south end of South Bay, where it will operate for the majority of the Summer 2016 boating season.  Once completed with South Bay, the dredging schedule will be updated, as to how and when they will finish Wickline Island, O’Brien Shoals, and West Bay.
