It's crucial that we all take a moment to prioritize safety and respect for each other while enjoying the incredible resources of Wonder Lake. Whether you're a fisherman, pontoon boater, jet skier, or wake sports enthusiast, politeness and mutual respect ensure everyone enjoys their time on the water.

General Lake Etiquette Guidelines and Basic Tow Boating Rules:

1. Music Levels: Keep noise to a considerate level, especially in the early morning and late evening. Being mindful of noise levels creates mutual respect and contributes to a friendly environment for all.

2. “No-Wake” Zones: Beware of and abide by the “No-Wake” zones designated in various places on the lake.

3. Counter-Clockwise Traffic: Boating traffic should flow in a counterclockwise direction around the lake.

Wakesurfing Guidelines

1. Follow the Route: Please refer to the route map shown below.

2. Stay in the Middle: Please use the middle of the lake to maintain a minimum distance of 150 feet from the shoreline. This will help to minimize the impact of your waves on the shoreline, docks and other lake users.

3. Same Direction: Once you start surfing in a direction, continue in that direction until you are done or reach the end of the designated surf route.

4. Minimize Waves Before Repeated Passes: After completing a surfing pass, power down your boat and allow waves to settle. This helps reduce the cumulative wave impact on the shoreline and other watercraft.

5. No Power Turn Pickups: After your rider falls put your boat into neutral and immediately turn the wheel to the opposite side of your surfer. The drag from your surf device will pivot your boat quickly. You can then idle back to your rider without creating unnecessary waves.

6. Remove Ballast: Once you are done wake surfing, remove the ballast from your boat before resuming other boating activities.

7. Holiday Weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day): These weekends are the busiest on our lake. If you notice the lake becoming crowded or congested at any time, please power down and discontinue wake surfing out of respect for other boaters.

By following these basic guidelines, we can ensure that Wonder Lake remains a safe and enjoyable place for everyone in our community.
