  1. The Wonder Lake Dam spillway repairs and upgrades were successfully completed. The work included first removing the failed concrete and steel protective structure that was exerting pressure on the west sluice gate, rendering it inoperable. The shaft was removed for straightening and was reinstalled, restoring the sluice gate back to an operating condition.
  2. An engineered steel plate protective structure, comprised of I-beams and ½ inch steel plate was then installed in front of both the west and east sluice gate shafts, with the intent to minimize the potential for future woody debris damage to the shafts.
  3. It should be noted that the existing concrete and steel protective structure on the east side of the spillway was examined by the dive team and was determined to still be in good structural condition. It was retained in place.
  4. The invoice from the marine contractor is expected shortly and will be reviewed for approval and payment.
  5. The insurance carrier for the MPOA was notified of the completion of the sluice gate project
  6. Thanks to Wooded Shores for allowing the contractor to use their boat ramp.
