  1. Wonder Lake received approximately 3.2 inches of rainfall during the month of July, slightly below the long-term average of 3.4 to 3.6 inches of rainfall for that period.
  2. July 2026 was determined to be the warmest July on record for the contiguous United States since records began in 1895. The former warmest July on record was during the 1936 Dust Bowl.
  3. Typically, these conditions could create ideal conditions for harmful algae blooms, but fortunately no reports of questionable algae growth have been received by the MPOA to date this summer.
  4. To avoid adding un-needed nutrients and organic matter to the lake, please do not let mowed grass clippings, raked leaves or other yard waste enter the lake. If you have a landscaping service, please make sure they are not blowing / raking these materials into the lake.
  5. On occasion, people and particularly kids, are observed in the area below the Wonder Lake Dam. It is important that everyone knows that the dam embankment, the spillway, and all areas below the dam are no-trespassing areas. If people are seen below the dam, please contact the MPOA office.
