News from MPOA President Brad Dennison — November is a time to give thanks - and this year we’re especially grateful to everyone who’s been a part of the MPOA, volunteering all of their time and effort to making our community a better place.
This month we’re trying out our new donated AV equipment to help bring additional transparancy to the MPOA meetings and all the hard work we do on your behalf. We hope the more you know and understand the better we’ll all be going forward.

1. As always, with autumn approaching, Wonder Lake landowners with lakefront or stream front properties are strongly encouraged to NOT rake their leaves into the water. Raking or blowing leaves into the lake can result in an abundance of decomposing leaves, raising nutrient levels. This, in turn, can trigger unwanted algae blooms and foster increased aquatic weed growth near your property. In addition, as algae and weeds proliferate and eventually die off, they cause bacteria that consume oxygen in the water, which can kill fish and other aquatic life.
The Annual Directors and Delegates meeting is Wednesday, September 25th, 7 p.m. at the MPOA.
Our annual dues continue to be significantly lower than comparable lakes in Illinois. Volunteer efforts in managing, maintaining, and enhancing the lake, as well as supporting our community, all help to control our expenses.
Wonder Lake Ski Team takes 3rd in Nationals!
It's crucial that we all take a moment to prioritize safety and respect for each other while enjoying the incredible resources of Wonder Lake. Whether you're a fisherman, pontoon boater, jet skier, or wake sports enthusiast, politeness and mutual respect ensure everyone enjoys their time on the water.

1. A request for proposal to conduct our annual state required inspections of the Dam and Sediment Drying Facility this fall has been received from the MPOA engineers. The dam inspection has been scheduled for October 18th at 11 am.
2. Efforts to develop a sales market for the dredged sediment continue. The raised garden beds established by the MPOA seem to show that the dredged sediment is very beneficial for plant growth, when compared to different commercially available products.
